Injuries are the worst. Plain and simple, the worst part of sports. As game three was already out of hand, Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant injured his knee and limped off the court. We can hope that this wasn’t the last image of him for the 2021-2022 NBA season but if it is, what a season he had. It’s a terrible way for a season to end, especially as he was fully putting together one of the better playoff runs in a long time. The Grizzlies have been resilient without him all year long but in order to win come playoff time, they will more than likely need his presence on the court. He is too good of a player and was too huge a part of their on-court production. Especially going up against the Golden State Warriors, the Grizzlies can hope that Morant can come back and help them make this a series. He is unlikely to play in game four tonight but maybe can return for game five back in Memphis after some rest. Call the play that injured him, dirty or not but injuries are apart of the game unfortunately. The Grizzlies need to try and rebound quickly as they are faced with a challenge of winning on the road without their leader. Can Memphis take game four and tie the series up? Or will Golden State be too much to handle and take a commanding three games to one series lead?

How Memphis can win: Losing Ja Morant really hurts this Grizzlies team as the Warriors don’t have anyone who can stop him. Without him, the rest of the team is going to need to step up and contribute. Guys like Jaren Jackson Jr., Dillion Brooks, and Desmond Bane will really need to have the games of their lives if they want to take down the Warriors. Forcing turnovers and hoping Golden State misses’ shots is one of the real ways to beat this Warriors team. If Memphis can try and play effective defense, they may have a chance to win tonight.  They playing very well without Morant during parts of the season, but this is the playoffs, so can they do that again?

How Golden State can win: The Warriors showed their powers in the game three win. They shot an absurd rate all game long and the game always kind of felt out of hand once they grabbed control during the second quarter. Now going up against Memphis without Morant in all likelihood, the Warriors need to make sure they don’t take the Grizzlies for granted. Getting a win tonight would really help their chances to advance in this series, especially if Morant is ever able to come back. They need to take advantage of this situation and push the Grizzlies to the brink. Strong ball movement and shot selection will be keys for the Warriors tonight as it was in game three. If Golden State stays focused and realizes that Memphis is likely to come out desperate, they should have a strong chance to win tonight.

Spread: MEM: +10 (-110) | GSW: -10 (-110)

Final Prediction: Golden State Warriors 119 Memphis Grizzlies 108

-I think the Grizzlies fight without their leader in Morant but this isn’t the regular season, and the Warriors are a tough opponent to beat, even with him on the court. Give me Golden State to win this game and push Memphis to the brink of elimination as the series heads back to Tennessee.
