Levine First Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft 3.0

By

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Travon Walker: Edge, Georgia

-This pick again stays the same from my original. There has been a lot of buzz about whether it will be Walker or Hutchison and while I think they should go Hutchison, I have them taking Walker. This is a Trent Baalke move all the way and been reports about how the owner wants to go another route. Walker is the guy here first overall for Jacksonville.

  1. Detroit Lions– Aidan Hutchison: Edge, Michigan

-Hutchison falls into the Lions lap here at second overall. He stays in state and the Lions get a guy who is built for the system at Dan Campbell is building and can really improve their defense. He climbed up draft boards as the college season went on and kneecaps will be eaten by Hutchison this season.

  1. Houston Texans – Derek Stingley Jr.: Cornerback, LSU

-This is where my first change occurs from both my original and second. There is too much smoke about how the Texans love Stingley and will take him at three. I believe the buzz and Houston gets their number one corner for the future.

  1. New York Jets – Ahmad Gardner: Cornerback, Cincinnati

– I believe the Jets are locked on Gardner at four assuming he is available. They need an alpha-type corner and Gardner is just that. He would really help that Jets secondary from day one.

  1. New York Giants – Evan Neal: Offensive Tackle, Alabama

-No trade in this pick as was the case in my last mock the other day. The Giants need help on the offensive line and grab Neal to do it. Neal brings experience and versatility that vastly helps this line improve in front of Daniel Jones.

  1. Carolina Panthers – Charles Cross: Offensive Tackle, Mississippi State

-While the Panthers can go a multitude of ways here, I have them going the safe route and taking offensive line help. Cross is one of the better pass-protecting tackles in the draft and gives whoever suits up at quarterback some protection.

  1. New York Giants – Jermaine Johnson II: Edge, Florida State

-This is where the first trade could occur but for the purposes of this draft, I won’t make one. The Giants got their tackle and now need some help on the defensive side of the football. I have them grabbing Johnson. He instantly helps their pass rush issues and has been jumping up draft boards throughout this process.

  1. Atlanta Falcons – Jameson Williams: Wide Receiver, Alabama

-The Falcons are one of those teams that could do a lot with this pick, but I have them going wide receiver. They take Williams off the board despite his injury. They are a team that isn’t likely going to contend next season so they can be patient. Williams can be a true Swiss-Army knife in this offense and imagine what it could look like with both him and Cordarrelle Patterson.

  1. Seattle Seahawks – Kayvon Thibodeaux: Edge, Oregon

-After he takes a little fall, Seattle scoops up the prospect that many believe has the upside to be the best in the entire draft. He gets to stay in the pacific northwest and now get to have a chip on his shoulder for falling a bit.

  1. New York Jets – Garrett Wilson: Wide Receiver, Ohio State

-This pick stays the same and the Jets get their guy at the wide receiver position. Wilson brings explosiveness and gives Zach Wilson a true threat to throw too. They are building something out in New York.
