Dallas Mavericks at Miami Heat Preview 2/15/2022

Tony Gutierrez/Associated Press

In a rematch of the 2006 and 2011 NBA Finals, the Dallas Mavericks will travel to play the Miami Heat at 7:30 p.m. EST on Tuesday. The Mavericks had their four-game winning streak snapped on Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Mavericks fell to the Clippers, 99-97. In the game before, the Mavericks extended their win streak to four games against the Clippers. Dallas has a 33-24 record with a fifth-seed in the Western Conference.

For the Heat, they head into this home game on a five-game winning streak. The Heat won their last game against the Brooklyn Nets, 115-111. They sit in first place in the Eastern Conference with a 37-20 record. They hold a one-game lead over the Chicago Bulls for the top seed in the conference.

How The Dallas Mavericks Can Win:

The Mavericks are still in the mix to reach the playoffs without having to be placed in the Play-In Tournament. Luka Doncic is a major reason why the Mavericks are in a position to contend for a playoff run in the West. Doncic dropped 45 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists against the Clippers, Saturday. Look for Doncic and Jalen Brunson to perform at a high level against the best team in the Eastern Conference.

How The Miami Heat Can Win:

The Heat are riding high thanks to a collective effort from their team over the last five games. While other teams in the East reloaded, the Heat have maintained their nucleus and are eyeing a run at another appearance in the NBA Finals. The Heat will likely throw Bam Adebayo down low at Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell. Adebayo had 19 points and 14 rebounds in the win over the Nets, four days ago. Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry each scored 13 points, but they will likely score more against the Mavericks.
