The Brooklyn Nets will hope to get some good fortune as they return to Washington D.C. to take on the Washington Wizards at 7:30 p.m. EST. The Nets are spiraling as of late with a 29-25 record and they are the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Nets check into this game on a nine-game losing streak, and they are in need of an immediate fix.

The Wizards are on a two-game losing streak with losses to the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns. With a 24-29 record this season, the Wizards sit at the No. 11 seed in the East. This game will be a battle of two teams who are in a tough position with less than 30 games left in the season. The Wizards and Nets are two teams who are facing an identity crisis with injuries and COVID-19 related issues.

How The Brooklyn Nets Can Win:

The Nets could be a different-looking team by the time the ball gets tipped on Thursday night. James Harden is rumored to be a potential trade piece in a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers that would bring Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, and a first-round draft pick to Brooklyn. Harden sat out the last game and he could be playing for the 76ers or a different team before Thursday’s game against the Wizards. Luckily for the Nets, Kyrie Irving will be available and they will need him to play at an All-Star level. The Nets were drubbed by the Boston Celtics, 126-91, on Tuesday.

How The Washington Wizards Can Win:

The Wizards are not in a much better situation than the Nets are in because Bradley Beal opted for season-ending wrist surgery. This is a big blow to the Wizards’ playoff hopes. In his absence, they will need Kyle Kuzma, Rui Hachimura, and Corey Kispert to deliver for the rest of the season, as well as this game against the Nets.
