Amir Khan and Kell Brook will settle their rivalry in a highly-anticipated grudge match on Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, United Kingdom.

For the last 10 years, Khan and Brook went back and forth with each other on what a fight would look like between the two of them. They will finally have the opportunity to see who the better fighter is. British boxing fans have been asking for this fight since at least 2013, but now the wait is over.

One can make the argument that Khan-Brook has been Britain’s biggest rivalry in boxing over the past 10 years. There is legitimate bad blood between these two combatants and they are putting their legacies on the line to resolve this dispute.

The line is drawn in the sand for who to support if you are a British boxing fan. In this tilt, sides must be taken for two former world champions. This is the fight the world has been waiting to see and there is not a world title on the line, which makes it even more compelling. The animosity between Brook and Khan is what makes this fight intriguing.

Brook (39-3, 27 KOs) will be making his return to the sport after he lost to Terence Crawford via fourth-round TKO in November 2020. Brook has not been a world champion since he lost his IBF welterweight world title to Errol Spence Jr. in May 2017. At 35-years-old, it does not seem likely for Brook to be in a position to fight for another world championship.

Before the loss to Crawford, Brook collected three straight wins at super welterweight. Those three fights were bounce-back fights for Brook after he suffered two consecutive stoppage losses to Gennadiy Golovkin and Spence in September 2016 and May 2017. Brook has fought on the biggest stages in the sport and Saturday’s bout will be no different.

Khan (34-5, 21 KOs) is in a similar spot in his career. Khan is also 35-years-old and his last world championship win took place in July 2011 against Zab Judah. It has been a long time since Khan has been at the top of the sport. Khan suffered a sixth-round TKO loss to Crawford in April 2019. Fighting for another world championship seems to be out of reach for Khan at this stage in his career.

Final Prediction: Kell Brook def. Amir Khan via split decision

Brook is not as fast as Khan, but he has a stiff jab and more power than Khan. It will be difficult for Khan to outbox Brook, so his best path to victory will be to blitz Brook inside the pocket. Brook will fight on the outside and stick and move on Khan. Expect this to be a close fight that Brook edges Khan out in by a narrow decision. Since this is a grudge match, anything can happen when there is true hatred between two boxers.
