The Minnesota Timberwolves will take a trip to Golden State tonight where they will play the Warriors at the Chase Center. Minnesota has won four of their last five, and Golden State is coming off a huge 130-92 win over Dallas that has given them momentum once again. The Wolves are looking to sneak into the top six in the West to avoid the play-in, while the Warriors look to gain some more momentum and steal the first seed in the West.

The Timberwolves have listed both Patrick Beverley and Jaylen Nowell questionable prior to tonight’s outing. With Draymond Green being out yet another game, the Timberwolves will need star big man Karl-Anthony Towns to show out. Towns must impose his will offensively from all three levels, and specifically, he has to put pressure on the rim throughout the night. Without Green, the Warriors have no answer for Towns, and he has to realize that no one in their depth chart will be able to contain him tonight.
The Wolves will need some help outside of Towns, and that has to come in the form of Anthony Edwards. Edwards has been red hot, as he’s averaged 32.5 points in his last two games, one being a 40 point masterclass in Portland. Edwards will have to deal with Andrew Wiggins tonight, who’s developed into one of the league’s best defenders over the past few years. Edwards needs to have another big performance to compliment Towns tonight.
Finally, the Wolves are going to need Jarred Vanderbilt to continue to anchor this defense at a high level. Vanderbilt has quietly been one of the league’s best defenders this season due to his immaculate help defense, so he’s going to be crucial in Minnesota’s game plan tonight.

The Warriors were recently on a cold streak, but it seems as if they’ve found their groove. Golden State decimated the rolling Mavericks, beating them 130-92. Although Curry still hasn’t found his hot hand, a sizable 38 point win against a great Dallas team should be good enough to give them some momentum. Golden State has to get hot fast to keep their momentum going against Minnesota to take another win.
Curry is facing his easiest matchup defensively in a while, so it’s imperative that he finds his groove tonight. The Timberwolves guard defense with Patrick Beverley potentially being out is one of the worst in the league, so Golden State needs their star to break out of their cold streak.
The formula for Golden State winning is simple- get hot fast, and keep the momentum running throughout the whole game. Golden State did this perfectly against Dallas, and that’s what got them the win. A huge reason why they went on a losing skid is that they couldn’t find this groove to start games, but if they can find this groove tonight, they will win. Expect Golden State to get hot early against a poor Wolves defense and snag the win in a relatively close game.
