The Milwaukee Bucks will be hosting the Sacramento Kings tonight in a battle of inter-conference teams at the Fiserv Forum. This will be the third straight game for the Bucks at home and the second of a back-to-back after they played the Chicago Bulls last night. The Bucks are currently vying for the top spot in the Eastern Conference once again. The defending champs have been very good at home this season and will look to improve on that record. On the contrary, the Kings have a record of 6-13 on the road and have a record of 3-7 over their last ten games. The Kings come into this game with a record of 18-29, sitting in the thick of the western conference play-in tournament standings. This game would be huge for them as it would gain some ground on the teams that are right around them in standings. Both teams come in trending in opposite directions which should make for an interesting first matchup of these squads.

How Sacramento can win: The Kings are coming off a two-point loss to the Detroit Pistons in their last game and are looking to rebound. Sacramento has the offensive firepower to compete with the Bucks as they have guards De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, and forward Harrison Barnes. Fox has been in the conversation of trade talks over the last few days so seeing how he responds to those will be an intriguing part of this team going forward. Sacramento is 13th in the NBA, averaging 109.7 points per game and is 17th in shooting at 45.4 percent from the field and 34.5 from the three-point line.

Sacramento is not great on defense however which could cause issues playing against the Bucks and their weapons. They are 28th in the NBA on the defensive scoring, allowing 113.7 points per game. They are also allowing the opposition to shoot 46.9 percent from the field. If they want to win this game, they’ll need to shore up their defensive lapses and get some stops on the Bucks.

How Milwaukee can win: The Bucks have been awesome on the defensive side of the floor, giving up fewer than 1.08 points per possession. The Bucks pull down more than 73 percent of available defensive rebounds with opponents only getting 11.6 fast break points per game on average. They are top ten in the NBA in free throw attempts allowed at 19.7 per game and at points in the paint allowed per game at 42.8. This will be a key for Milwaukee as they take on a Kings team that has been reeling of late. If they can attack the basket, the Bucks have a good chance at coming out with a win. The Bucks are also very good on the offensive side of the ball, scoring more than 1.11 points per possession and shoot the three pointer at an elite level. They welcomed back guard Jrue Holiday a few games ago after he had missed a few games with an ankle injury. His presence really allows this Bucks team to run the way they want it too and improves their defense greatly.

All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has been spectacular for the Bucks again this season, putting up 28.6 points per game, 11.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists on 53.3 percent shooting from the field. The current Finals MVP is again showing why he is considered one of the best players in the league today.
