An afternoon game in Orchard Park, New York, for the first time since 2009, took place between the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. A Bills win would give them the AFC East division title for a second straight year. The Jets kept it close but ultimately the Bills would pull away in the fourth quarter with a 27-10 win.

The Buffalo Bills would have their offense go out on the field first and they set the tone early. The drive started with a 17-yard pass from Josh Allen to Dawson Knox, then a 40-yard run by Devin Singletary would set up a touchdown pass from Allen to Stefon Diggs.

The next score wouldn’t come until four minutes left in the second quarter and it would be by the Jets. A botched punt set up on a retry after the Bills and Jets got in a fight allowed the Jets to start in Bills territory. From there on a fourth-down attempt, Zach Wilson would find Keenan Cole for a 40-yard touchdown pass.

After Mario Addison sacked Wilson on the Jets following offensive drive to force a punt, the Bills would try to establish momentum heading into the half. They would do so with Allen completing a 13-yard pass to Cole Beasley, a 17-yard pass to Diggs, and a 14-yard pass to Gabriel Davis. The Bills would have to settle with a field goal as time was running out making it 13-7 at the half. During that drive though, Allen would go on to set a new Bills franchise record.

The Bills defense would start the second half off strong as they brought Jordan Poyer in for a blitz and he was able to sack Wilson for 13-yards. Wilson would make up for 20 of those yards on a scramble but ultimately the Bills defense would hold up to force a three-and-out.

After four punts, with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Bills would score their second touchdown of the day. It was an Allen rush for 32-yards and a few dink-and-dunk passes that would march them down the field so Singletary could rush in for the touchdown. After another three-and-out, Allen and the offense marched down the field for Singletary to score again but this time on a pass.

The Bills had 424 yards of offense and Allen only completed 24-of-45 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns. Until the fourth quarter when the offense found its rhythm it was the defense of the Bills that stepped up holding the Jets to 53 yards and sacking Wilson nine times. It would be Mario Addison and Jordan Poyer leading the team with two sacks each.

With the win, the Buffalo Bills will now host a home game in the wild card round against either the New England Patriots or Los Angeles Chargers.
