Seahawks Blast Texans in the Second Half

It was a solid showing for Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks as the team continued to return to pace and defeated the Houston Texans by a final score of 33-13 at NRG Stadium.

The Seahawks’ defense was on its heels to start the game early, giving up a 72-yard opening drive touchdown to rookie quarterback Davis Mills. However, they rebounded quickly and effectively shut out the Texans’ inexperienced offense in the second half.

On the flip side, the Seattle offense was quite consistent with Wilson finishing with 260 yards and two touchdowns passing. Tyler Lockett once again played a sizable role for the passing offense, finishing the game with 142 yards and a touchdown grab.

Perhaps, the brightest player of the game was Seahawks fourth-year running back Rashaad Penny. Penny, after coming off multiple on and off injuries for the past two seasons, managed to rack up 137 rushing yards and two touchdowns as he averaged 8.6 yards per attempt and was a critical piece to the balanced offense.

The Seahawks now move to a 5-8 record and slide into the hunt for the NFC Wild Card picture. Next week, they’ll be set to fly over to sunny Los Angeles to take on the Rams in a pivotal divisional matchup.
