Kentucky Secures Commitment

John Calipari and his new coaching staff continue their tear in the recruiting world, as the Kentucky Wildcats have secured another commitment from a top 10 prospect in the class of 2022 in Chris Livingston.

Livingston, a top 10 ranked recruit, is from Akron Ohio and is Kentucky’s third five-star recruit in for next season and has officially given Kentucky the number one class ranking in Kentucky’s first off season with new assistant coaches Orlando Antigua and Chinn Coleman. Livingston now joins the number one overall recruit Shaedon Sharpe, and fellow top 15 recruit Skyy Clark as the Wildcats continue to add talent in quick succession in what is shaping up to become arguably John Calipari’s strongest recruiting class since arriving in Lexington in 2009.

Calipari has been vocal the last several weeks in his desire to play “Four perimeter players, basically like four guards.” It is being widely reported that Livingston is going to play a small ball four type role with his unreal athleticism and scoring talent, both traits that should translate well into the college game. Livingston is best known for his ability to score in transition and his unreal ability to score at the rim and is a monster as he comes down hill.

Livingston chose Kentucky over both Tennessee State and Georgetown, and is going to play a significant role in what will likely be his only season at Lexington next year as Calipari looks to get back to the final four for the first time since 2015. Kentucky has been on a tear since arguably the worst season in its program’s history going a putrid 9-16 as John Calipari is attempting to prove why he is revered as one of the top coaches in the country.
