Coming out of Kentucky at 6’3”, Linebacker Jamin Davis could be the next big thing. He was named first-team All-SEC and second-team All-SEC in 2020, and he Led UK in tackles (102) and was second in interceptions (3) as a junior in 2020. He also became the first Wildcat with five-consecutive double-figure tackle games since Danny Trevathan, who had nine straight in 2010.
Jamin Davis has shown to be an explosive player, as he’s an outstanding tackler and is impressive in pass coverage and reading offensives. He has the potential to be one of the better linebackers in the NFL throughout the years. Davis has proven to be an amazing athlete that doesn’t disappoint. He’s never ran into injuries or any physical problems as he only missed 1 game for Covid-19 protocols.
Jamin Davis has recently flown up draft projections as teams start to see his hidden talent and how he plays. Any team who selects the first-team All-SEC Linebacker won’t be disappointed nonetheless. Davis still has plenty to learn, so if you pair him with a veteran linebacker or a great linebacker coach, he will become a diamond in the rough. When you look at his stats you will see that he totaled 144 tackles, 5.0 TFL, 2.5 sacks, five interceptions, three PBU, three QBH, one blocked FG, one fumble recovery, and one forced fumble. He is a great selection in the 2nd-3rd round.
With that being said, expect big things for the future NFL linebacker as he recently declared for the NFL draft and he will be an amazing fit for any team in need of a backup or potentially starting linebacker. Many teams should be pursuing the linebacker as he even has a chance to get selected in the first round.
