Carolina Panther vs Atlanta Falcons: OVER/54

Week 5 of the NFL features a lot of high spreads, so I will be looking at totals for this week. This NFC South divisional matchup features a Falcons defense that gives up the second most points per game at 34.5. Atlanta has also given up at least 30 points in each of their games and have allowed the second most passing yards per game at 341.5 passing yards. The latter plays into the hands of the Panthers as Carolina has the 8th most passing yards per game with 274 passing yards. I expect both teams to be able to score at will today.

New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys: UNDER/52.5

This is an interesting pick as the Cowboys average the highest yards per game with 509.5 total yards as well as a league high 407.8 passing yards per game. The under for this matchup has more to do with the Giants. The New York Giants average a league low 11.8 points per game and have not scored more than 16 points in a game this season. New York’s defense has also been sneaky good as they held the Los Angeles Rams to 17 points last week, and they also allow the 5th lowest yards per game at 328.8 total yards as well as the 6th lowest passing yards per game at 221.5 passing yards. I do not expect the Giants to completely hold down Dak Prescott and Dallas’ offense, but New York will not score enough to hit the over.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Houston Texans: James Robinson OVER/94.5 Total Yards

Like I said earlier, I am not the biggest fan of the plays in this week’s slate of action, so I’m going with a prop bet for my third and final play of the day. James Robinson averages 111.6 total yards per game this season, and Houston’s defense allows 189.25 total yards of offense to RBs this season. It is important to note that Jacksonville’s OC Jay Gruden said he plans to get James Robinson more involved in the second half this week. The Jaguars have been done by multiple scores in the past few weeks going into the second half, so James Robinson has had fewer carries. Expect Jacksonville to run the ball more this week, and Gardner Minshew should also throw the ball to Robinson more as well, which will boost Robinson’s total yards.
