The Magic Prevail Over the Kings

By

On Monday, the Magic went on the road to face off against the Kings. Orlando came out on top with the final score of 114-112. This win is crucial after a close loss on Friday to the Suns. Orlando needed this momentum for yesterday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center.

The Magic were dominating most of the game outscoring the Kings in every quarter except the third. The Magic held the lead for the majority of the contest until the final minutes of the game.

Orlando was also dominate at the free throw line scoring 25 points off of fouls. The team total for free throws was 83.3%.

The Magic had a poor night shooting leading to a sloppy win opening the door for an unsuccessful comeback attempt by Sacramento. As a team, the Magic were 31% from beyond the three point line. The Field goal percentage was far better at 43.5%, but there is still much more room for improvement.

The MVP of the game was Aaron Gordon who made an and-1 with little more than a second left on the clock. Gordon’s clutch performance is what put the magic up in the final moments of the game.

There was also another outstanding performance from Nikola Vucevic. Vucevic led the team in points with 26 total points. He also dominated the paint leading both teams in rebounds with 15 total. Vucevic also led the team in minutes at 39 total minutes.
