Carolina Panthers(-4.5) at Detroit Lions
The Panthers are coming off a tough loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers and are on the road for this game against the Lions, but they should still win this game pretty easily. The Lions are already out Marvin Jones Jr. and Damon Harrison is currently listed as questionable. Ziggy Ansah will play today, but he may not be 100%. A banged up Ansah and Harrison could lead to a big game for Christian McCaffrey. The Lions pass rush will also not be very effective today, which will give Cam plenty of time to move around the pocket and make plays. Without Marvin Jones and with losing Golden Tate at the trade deadline, Matthew Stafford will not have many targets to throw to, which should limit the passing game for Detroit. Carolina should win this game by at least a touchdown. The Lions are currently in rebuild mode and are not ready to beat a good team like Carolina.
Minnesota Vikings(+110) at Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears are playing well right now, but the Vikings are still the better team. The line is -2 for the Bears, so you are better off taking the Vikings moneyline as the game is essentially a tossup. Adam Thielen has been hot the entire season and should be in store for another 100-yard receiving game. The Vikings do have a great defense and should pose problems for Mitchell Trubisky. He is going to be facing a lot of pressure in this game and will take a beating. He may not be ready for the pressure and could end up making some mistakes. Dalvin Cook is back for the Vikings, so the Minnesota run game should be a factor. The Vikings will be able to go into Chicago and win.
Dallas Cowboys at Atlanta Falcons(-3.5)
There are a lot of great road teams that could pull of an upset today, but the Falcons are a home team that should cover today. The Cowboys are not going to be a playoff team, and the Falcons are slowly getting healthier. The Falcons are coming off a tough loss against the Browns, but they should have better luck playing at home. These teams are pretty evenly matched, but the Falcons will have the slight edge to pull away. The Cowboys will be weak up front both offensively and defensively, so you should expect a good game from Tevin Coleman as well as a good number of sacks from the Falcons’ defense.
Pittsburgh Steelers(-6.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Steelers are on the road for this game, but they are on a five-game win streak and are facing a Jaguars team that is a complete mess. Jalen Ramsey had a tweet earlier in the week saying Jacksonville fans would miss him when he’s gone, and reports are coming out that the Jags might trade Ramsey in the offseason. These reports have been refuted by the Jaguars, but these reports could lead to some tension within the team. The Jaguars are in disarray right now and are not playing together that well. The Steelers are rolling with James Conner in the backfield as well as a great receiving duo in Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster that should easily get open against a weakened Jaguars secondary. This is not the same Jacksonville team that beat the Steelers twice last year. The attitude of this Jaguars team is not healthy and will not be successful against a Pittsburgh team that is on a roll.
Lock of the Week: Tennessee Titans(+105) at Indianapolis Colts
This is another road team pick, but this Titans team is a lot better than the Colts. The Colts have improved, but they are not ready to win yet. The Titans will be making a playoff push this year especially after last week’s showing against the New England Patriots where they got constant pressure on Tom Brady. Indianapolis have improved their offensive line, but the Titans pass rush should still get through. Marcus Mariota is playing better and a steady run game should help him out. Expect a big game from Dion Lewis as the Colts have struggled to stop the run allowing 107.8 rushing yards per game this season. The Titans will not have to rely heavily on Mariota if the run game gets going, and it should against this Colts team.
