Hope everyone is well & kickin Fantasy Butt in 2020..! This year has been far from anything like we’ve seen in the past, injuries have been outta control & we don’t know when a game/player is gonna get hit with a Covid restriction. Making good lineup decisions, working the waiver wire & trying to buy-low on guys in the trade market are all things good Fantasy owners need to do to stay ahead of the pack. Here are some matchups this week that I like & think can help in you DFS/Season long contests.
INDIANAPOLIS COLT RB JONATHAN TAYLOR, some would say is underachieving as a 2nd round pick for the Indianapolis Colts, especially after losing Marlon Mack to an achilles injury Week 1. Others might say JT & The Colts are just getting started. Taylor currently ranks 3rd in Rookie Rushing Yards behind Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards Helaire and Jacksonville Jaguar RB James Robinson (both of whom have played 1 more game than Taylor because of the bye week) & I believe coming off a bye week the Colts are ready to commit to Taylor as the workhorse. The matchup is a favorable one for Taylor as Detroit Lions are giving up the 5th most FPG and as the Colts are 3 point favorites here, look for Indy’s Oline to pave the way for Taylor en route to a fine Fantasy Day.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ER TE GEORGE KITTLE has a great matchup this week as the San Francisco 49ers, who are looking to win their 3rd straight game, travel to Seattle to take on Russell Wilson & the Seahawks in a crowded NFC West Showdown. We are about halfway through the 2020 season and the Seattle Defense is ranked 30th vs the pass, fresh off allowing 420 yards from scrimmage & 4 TDs to Kyler Murray in Week 7. On the contrary, Seattle’s D ranks 9th vs the rush, and don’t forget that Kittle has posted 2 of his best fantasy days this year vs Philly & LAR who are both tough to run on in their own right, so the targets should come George’s way Sunday! With Deebo Samuel set to miss another game, Jimmy Garoppolo should be looking to Kittle & Brandon Aiyuk early & often for fantasy gold!
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES WR TRAVIS FULGHAM since stepping into a starting WR role for the Philadelphia Eagles, he has only averaged 7 catches, 100 yards and he’s scored a TD in 3 out of 4 games. This week Fulgham gets a healthy matchup vs the Dallas Cowboys who have allowed FIFTEEN TD Passes in the last 6 weeks! The Eagles are fighting for their life in the NFC East & despite a rash of injuries, they have been able to keep things somewhat together being led by QB Carson Wentz who has scored 28 FP in back to back weeks. The Eagles will follow up Week 8 vs the Cowboys with a bye, look to get a little healthier and ready to take the East by storm. In the meantime, Fulgham will feast on this Cowboys secondary for at least 8 rec 80+ and a TD.
CLEVELAND BROWN TE HARRISON BRYANT is coming off of a career game with 56 receiving yards and 2 TDs. Starting the year as the 3rd string TE for the Cleveland Browns, Bryant has seen multiple targets in all but 1 game this year & after 7 weeks, the 6’5 240lb Rookie TE from FAU finds himself in a position to solidify himself as the starter. In Week 8, the Browns host the Las Vegas Raiders who have given up a TD in 4 out of 6 games to TEs & have surrendered 70+ yards and a TD in back to back weeks. No OBJ will trickle down to more looks for Bryant and in a potential mini-shootout with an O/U of 52, I can see the rookie finding the endzone for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. A good cheap option for DFS as well…!
