Utah Jazz (-2.5) vs Denver Nuggets
The Jazz are looking to close out the series against the Nuggets today. This game is going to be another shootout, but I expect the Jazz to prevail by at least 3 points. Utah has three potent scorers in Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley, and Rudy Gobert. Mike Conley has scored a total of 53 points in the two games he has played, while Gobert is averaging just under 20 points a game in the series. Mitchell is also averaging roughly 40 points a game with a 57 point performance in game 1 and a 51 point outing in game 4. Jamal Murray is coming off a 50 point effort in game 4, but I believe he emptied the tank in that game and will not be able to come close to that level of production in game 5.
Kansas City Royals vs St. Louis Cardinals (-1.5)
Matt Harvey is starting for the Royals tonight, and he is far removed from his Dark Knight days. Harvey is on his fourth team in three years, and he did not fair well in his debut with the Royals as he gave up 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 BBs, and 2 HRs in 3 innings against the Reds. The Cardinals just hung 9 runs on the Royals last night, and I expect more of the same tonight. Adam Wainwright is starting for the Cardinals, and he has been stellar this season with a 2.00 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP in 18 innings. The strikeouts are not there for Wainwright, but he is facing a Royals offense that is second to last in runs scored per game with an average of 3.90 runs.
