TWSN Gambling Corner: NFL Week 14

Minnesota Vikings at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6.5)

Tampa Bay is fresh off a bye week following a 27-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in week 12. The Bucs have the best run defense in the league as they only allow 74.2 rushing yards per game. The Vikings are a team that relies on the run to set up the pass game, but Dalvin Cook will be no threat against this Tampa Bay defense. Tampa Bay is susceptible in the passing game, but Kirk Cousins is not going to be able to beat this defense. After losing two in a row, Tom Brady and the Bucs need to get on the winning path to secure a playoff spot, and they will do just that in dominating fashion vs the Vikings. Minnesota also gives up 261.7 passing yards per game, which is 7th worst in the league, and they are up against a fresh Tom Brady.

Green Bay Packers (-7.5) at Detroit Lions

The Lions are going into this game extremely banged up. Detroit is without their top two Cornerbacks in Jeff Okudah and Desmond Trufant, Defensive End Everson Griffin is also out as he is on the COVID list, and Wide Receiver Kenny Golladay will miss another week as well. Green Bay has the second best offense in the league behind the Chiefs with 396.6 yards per game, so they will score at will against a Lions team that is missing several starters. The 5-7 Lions pulled off a win against the Bears last week, but they will get demolished in this game against their division rivals.

New York Jets at Seattle Seahawks: D.K. Metcalf OVER/80.5 Receiving Yards

The Jets have the 2nd worst pass defense in the league as they allow 291 passing yards per game. They are up against a Seahawks offense that ranks 8th in the league with 385.7 passing yards per game. Seattle loves to air the ball out and Russell Wilson’s favorite target is D.K. Metcalf. The second year standout will match up against a rookie Cornerback, which is a great sign for him. The Jets just fired Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams, so Inside Linebackers coach Frank Bush will step up and take on the difficult task of shutting down Wilson and Metcalf. Seattle is coming off a brutal loss at home against the New York Giants where Metcalf caught 5 passes for 80 yards against a stout Giants defense. Expect the Seahawks to take their frustrations out on a 0-12 Jets team.
