Another regular season has come and gone, now it is time to look at the postseason. With Super Wild Card Weekend upon us, it is time to see who will move on, and who will go home shaking their heads.
#7 (8-8) Chicago Bears @ #2 (12-4) New Orleans Saints
When you look at this game on paper, you would pick the Saints any day. I can not say I disagree there. New Orleans opens up as 8.5 point favorites over the Bears. This game will be close but I feel that New Orleans will come out on top in this one. This will likely be longtime quarterback and future Pro Football Hall of Famer, Drew Brees, last season before he retires and the locker room will not under any circumstances want to let him down with a first round exit. Expect the Saints to start off a tad slow, but will pick it up in the end.
My Pick- Saints 35-21
#6 (10-6) Los Angeles Rams @ #3 (12-4) Seattle Seahawks
Guess we needed Round Three in this NFC West divisional matchup. The past two games have been a lopsided affair and a close fight with both teams splitting wins. This one will be close. The real thing to watch here will be how each team’s defense plays. Both defenses have not been the best this year. A shootout is imminent nonetheless.
My Pick- Seahawks 38-35
#5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ #4 Washington Football Team
A team with no name is hosting a playoff game, how weird is that? What is not weird is what the outcome of this one will be. Washington is 5-1 under quarterback Alex Smith but I see them taking a loss to Tom Brady’s Buccaneers. Washington’s defense has been doing well recently so I do not see this being a high scoring game.
My Pick- Buccaneers 21-17
#7 (11-5) Indianapolis Colts @ #2 (12-4) Buffalo Bills
This is the one game I am actually really looking forward to watching. Both teams are equipped with high powered offenses and no doubt will this be one great game to watch. The Bills are a scary team this year and I have no doubt that they will come out swinging and will not go down without a fight. The Colts run game is a scary thing for defenses to deal with but can be stopped if done right.
My Pick- Bills 38-28
#6 (11-5) Cleveland Browns @ #3 (12-4) Pittsburgh Steelers
No doubt in my mind that this will be the biggest game of the weekend. The history behind these two is as good as it gets. Division rivalries make for a good playoff game. I have a feeling that there will be an upset brewing in this one. The Browns offense has had its struggles but lately they have been on fire, when their entire receiving core is not barred from playing due to Virus issues. It will be a fun matchup to watch either way.
My Pick- Browns 28-24
#5 (11-5) Baltimore Ravens @ #4 (11-5) Tennessee Titans
Last year Tennessee upset the 14-2 Ravens in the playoffs which still lives in my head rent free. The run game by the Titans was the name of the game and will still hold true the same in this one. Look for this one to be exciting but for Ravens fans it will be one to forget. Literally no one has been able to stop Derrick Henry as of late and do not look for anyone to stop him now.
My Pick- Titans 31-17
